Whether you’re enjoying the summer in the city or escaping to your August vacation away from the concrete jungle, there’s no avoiding the harms of the sun in the summer, and specially for the little ones, it's super important to always be mindful about the dangers of the sun and how we can prevent them! So because we care about everyone's well being, here are some tips for embracing the outdoors and being mindful about sun exposure.
- 30/30 rule: Apply at least 30 spf sunscreen 30 minutes in advance of any outside activity. Don’t forget to reapply after two hours, exercise, or time in the water!
- Wear protective clothing: Cover up those little arms and legs! Children’s skin is more delicate and susceptible to damage. Check out our ponchos and hats for a fun way to fend off those rays.
- Wear sunglasses to protect the eyes: Harmful rays can cause damage to corneas, so protect your child’s eyes with quality lenses like our 100% UVA and UVB protection sunglasses from Paxley.
- Set a good example: Create a routine for sun safety, like staying in the shade and applying and reapplying sunscreen so your child will follow and learn about its importance.
